I'm baaaaack!
I am not starting my blog with the best record since I haven't posted in a month but now that summer is in full swing, I hoping to blog way more often!
To get back into the swing of things, this post is going to definitely be a catch all post of what I have been up to this past month!
The biggest thing is that I said goodbye to my Kinders for summer as they are now Firsties. I would definitely be lying if I said I didn't shed some tears! They were my first group to have for a full year and they were the sweetest group I could have asked for! We shared the same heart for good manners, kindness, and making learning fun! They were my guinea pigs for so many things as I am always working to make my teaching and my classroom the most effective. I am so going to miss their sweet little faces next year!
Just because school is over, doesn't mean that I am not working. Ever since the last day of school, I have been working on things for next year!
I have started assembling my word wall for next year. I am all about classroom décor and chevron so I couldn't help but start to put this up before I left my classroom for the summer.
Creating resources is something that is totally new to me but I am having a blast creating things specifically for my classroom. This is a data folder that I am going to use for parent conferences, portfolios, and just as a quick reference to see where my kiddos are academically.
Oh and y'all! I was shopping at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago and found the cutest letter charms in their bead section. As soon as I saw them, I knew I just had to have them! They are in the works to make a new center for my classroom. Their uses are practically limitless! Aren't they precious!
I have put them in a reusable lunch container that is divided into three sections. Found these gems at Dollar Tree! I plan to cut pipe cleaners and put them in one of the little sections and then print out small cards with our sight words on them and put it in the other section. So the littles will read the sight word, find the letters charms to spell the word, and slide the charms onto the pipe cleaners. So this little center will cover several important areas-- Letter Identification, Sight Word Recognition, and Fine Motor Practice! Win, Win, Win!
I am working on several other projects for the classroom and will be blogging about them later on this the week! I am giving myself a deadline to get it done! So you will be hearing from me real soon!
